BVM (USN) acknowledged the elderly on ‘National Senior Citizen’s Day’

Compassionate Bharatiyans of BVM (USN) celebrated “National Senior Citizen Day” with immense zeal and zest in the morning assembly. Aditi (IV) recited a soul- stirring poem "Jab Phool Mein Ho Jata Hai". Mrs. Manisha (co-ordinator) motivated the students to respect, support, honour and appreciate the elderly by recognizing their contribution, made to the society. She said that we are fortunate to have these keepers of wisdom amongst us. Their wealth of knowledge, skills and experience are very helpful for us to reach the zenith of life. Students from class IX to XII also paid a visit to Swami Vivekanand Old age Home. The intention behind this visit was to inculcate the value of empathy and compassion towards the senior citizens amongst youngsters. The elderly were elated and felt nostalgic while sharing their life experiences with the students. There, the students from class (VII) presented a soulful bhajan "Hey Krishna Sahara Ban jao", which left them spellbound. They appreciated the dance performance 'Krishna Leela' presented by the students of class VII &VIII a lot. Students had a memorable experience to be cherished life long.

Principal Mrs. Bandana Sethi sensitized the students that the senior citizens sacrifice their entire life in nurturing the relationships. The best way to demonstrate our gratitude towards them is by acknowledging them as an integral part of our society and giving them their respectful status in the families and society.
